Context

The project

The site introduces Bob and Fran’s story through their surviving letters. It gives readers several ways into the material: the story, epilogue, letters, book, and music.

This is broader creative work, not a contractor lead-generation project. The design decisions serve reading and exploration rather than a sales funnel.

Decision 1

Let the letters introduce the story

The opening uses images of handwritten correspondence beside a concise introduction. The original material establishes the subject before the reader enters the archive.

Decision 2

Separate reading paths

Story, epilogue, letters, book, and music each have a named route through the navigation. Readers can follow the narrative or begin with a particular part of the collection.

Decision 3

Use an editorial visual language

Navy, warm paper tones, and serif typography carry through the introduction. The reviewed mobile capture shows the current stacked reading layout; the presentation image is paired with that actual capture.

What this means for your website

A website should make its subject understandable and give visitors a useful next step. This project shows those choices in the actual interface.
