Built by Design is a family-led design-build remodeler in Overland Park, Kansas. Kristen leads design, Mike leads construction, and they've been remodeling Johnson County homes since 2004, with work featured by 435 Magazine, The Kansas City Star, and Country Living.

The problem
Twenty years of great work, and almost none of it showing up online. The website was dated and thin. Directories across the internet carried wrong addresses, wrong phone numbers, and in one case somebody else's name listed as the owner. The only people finding Built by Design in search were people who already knew the name.
What we did
Rebuilt the website. A 44-page pass rewrote every title and description for what homeowners actually search. Buried services got real pages of their own, including two cost pages that answer the first question every homeowner asks. All 17 blog posts got proper bylines and internal links. 26 site updates shipped in 10 days.
Cleaned up the record. We audited every directory and data broker carrying Built by Design's info and filed corrections for the wrong addresses, wrong phone numbers, and the listing naming the wrong owner. We also got them into the Kansas City Home Builders Association with a fully built-out member listing.
Turned happy clients into reviews. Personal, one-at-a-time emails to past clients, written like a human and sent from a real address. The first new 5-star review landed within days.
Wired up honest measurement. Every lead from the website now gets counted exactly once, so Mike knows what his site actually produces. No inflated numbers, no guessing.
The results so far
Built by Design now ranks in Overland Park for basement remodeling and design-build searches, terms the old site sat pages deep on. Seven leads from Google have turned into bids on remodel projects. Six new reviews came in from happy past clients and the overall Google rating went up. New blog posts are indexed by Google and answer the questions homeowners actually type into search. And when homeowners ask AI tools who to hire, Built by Design shows up in the top 3 answers on 3 of the 4 main AI platforms.
